3/12/07 - Picture has been locked for the Trust Us scene. Robert and Producer Curtis Smith are beginning their preperations for their first investor's screening of the 12 minute scene.
3/10/07 - The post-production process of the Trust Us scene has begun. A rough-cut of the project is in place.
3/05/07 - Production on a scene from Trust Us has officially wrapped. The shoot was a success.
3/03/07 - Production on a scene from Trust Us has begun. Robert will be directing the short. He will also be joined by Director of Photography Luis Colon and Producer Curtis Smith.
2/24/07 - Trust Us has been offically cast. Eric Imhoff will play the role of "Guy" while Sean O'Conner will play the role of "Backman."
12/15/06 - Pre-production has begun on the shooting of a key scene of Robert's new feature script, Trust Us.
11/01/06 - A 2 1/2 minute version of Escape from the Night has been posted on Steven Speilberg and Mark Burnett's new show website, "On the Lot." If selected, Robert will have the opportunity to compete for a $1 million development deal with Dreamworks.

8/12/05 - Robert has begun working on the DVD for his student film, Get the Hell Out of Heaven. Special features will include the trailer, interviews, and director's commentary.
7/22/05 - The final draft of Trust Us, Robert's feature length screenplay, has been completed.

1/28/05 - Escape from the Night was screened today at the Short Film Program for the "Tiburon Film Series" in Tiburon, California. It was one of five short films included in the event. Although no representative from the prdouction was able to attend, the screening was said to be a success.
1/11/05 - A follow-up article on Robert Smithline was published today in Main Street Magazine, a local New Jersey paper. It discusses Robert's experience at Telluride and the early development of his first feature film, Trust Us. The article will be posted here soon.
12/14/04 - The second draft of Trust Us, a feature-length screenplay written by Robert Smithline, has been completed. The 106 page script is based on Robert's award-winning one-act play.
9/19/04 - Robert Smithline was featured in an article in The Bergen Record, a popular New Jersey newspaper, on September 12th, 2004. Jim Beckerman interviewed the director about his recent experience in Telluride and about the genesis of Escape from the Night. To read the interview, click here.
9/8/04 - The screening at the Telluride IndieFest was a hit. Writer/Director Robert Smithline attended and participated in a Q & A session immediately after Escape from the Night was presented. Actor Jason Alan Caine also made it all the way to Telluride, Colorado for the September 3rd showing of the short film.
8/22/04 - Press kits for Escape from the Night have been assembled. Look for a "press" section for this website to be up soon.
8/15/04 - The DVD of Escape from the Night has been created. Contents include the 22 minute short film, a 20 minute behind-the-scenes documentary about the making of the film, the trailer, and deleted scenes.
8/2/04 - Escape from the Night has been named a short film *winner* at the Telluride Indiefest. It will be screened on Friday, September 3rd, at the prime time slot of 6-8 PM! 7/27/04 - BIG news! Escape from the Night has been selected to be screened at the "Telluride Indiefest 2004", which will be held in Telluride, Colorado on Labor Day Weekend from August 31st to Spetember 5th. The day of the screening has not been announced yet, but more information will be coming soon. Check out the website at www.tellurideindiefest.com.
7/13/04 - Escape from the Night was screened at the Long Island Film Expo. Attendees included: Writer/Director Robert Smithline, Director of Photgraphy Luis Colon, Musical Composer Jeff Krusel, and actress Patricia Elisar.

1/21/04 - Robert's award winning one-act play, Trust Us, has been adapted and completed into a 100-page feature-length screenplay.
12/17/03 - The Escape from the Night DVD is in the works. It will inlcude the Making of Escape from the Night, featuring cast and crew interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, and cast auditions. Other special features include deleted scenes, the trailer, and more.
